Bedrooms are a place of serenity and relaxation, and just as the paint, bedding and lighting enhances this motif, the art should as well. With that being said, steer clear of anything too busy, abrasive, offensive, loud and bright. No one wants a sharp angry portrait of a man yelling or giving the middle finger in stark blacks, greys and reds putting them to sleep at night, nor do we want it as the first thing that greets us in the morning.
Think rolling waves, simple two toned sketches, ocean views, phases of the moon, sweet animal portraits, undulating landscapes, pretty vintage ladies in pink silk dresses, or cascading fields of florals. We love a gallery wall, however in the bedroom, if you are so inclined, keep your collection soft, small and neutral.
