We are loving the new Palihotel in Culver City which opened earlier this year to great celebration. As Culver City is in renaissance mode, this cleverly designed and unique boutique luxury hotel in Los Angeles is exactly what was called for to lodge both business travelers and the creative-minded tourist. Whimsically chic and constructed in a renovated 1920’s-era boarding house style, the hotel boasts 49 guest rooms ideal for vacations and staycations alike. The owners of the Paiihotel Culver City...

At this time of year when we're starting to dream about summer vacations and the verdant spring to come, JAC, an interior designer in Los Angeles, couldn't help but think about some of our favorite small spaces and cozy hideaways. And of course some of the best designed getaways are sometimes nestled up and away in trees. Yes, I'm talking about dreamy tree houses that we all secretly want to climb into and whittle away some time staring out at the...

While we may not be walking around in bell-bottoms and platform shoes, when it comes to interiors The Seventies are back and better than ever. The 70's was a time for rock 'n' roll, bold color shaggy textures, and letting your hair down. Rules were there to be broken; clashing wallpapers dominated, and seventies interior design is sneaking right back in where it came from, albeit in a more refined and toned-down way. As a child of the 70's, I have a...

As city dwellers we love to get out of town and soak up some of the fantastic design and natural majesty this state has to offer, particularly when you can be someplace where the ocean meets the cliffs.  And of course living the Laguna Beach...

JAC knows you have heard of man caves, so what is a she shed you ask.  Well women can now have their own special place to escape with she sheds! Gone are the days of the man shed full of gardening equipment and tools as the she sheds are now ruling supreme. Outdoor she shed design ideas are aplenty.  They can be used as office spaces, art studios, guest rooms, party rooms, craft studios, exercise rooms, or simply a place to read,...

For most of us, getting our home office up-to-snuff in terms of a good design is something that never happens since we are so focused on doing actual work there!  But we should dream and maybe even lay down some plans for a home office makeover. Your home office can be a sanctuary, a retreat, and a place guaranteed to produce productivity, if done correctly. So many factors play into home office interior design ideas, from the size and storage capacity...

We are so excited to share the photos from our recent JAC project in Montana. This design-build house is tucked right into the Rocky Mountain range at the base of Pioneer Mountain, the site of the uber exclusive, members only Yellowstone Club. JAC was lucky enough to work with the architect and builder to develop, design, build and furnish this family owned ski chateau. The home has 5 bedrooms with two master bedrooms both complete with fireplaces and outdoor space...

Finding your personal color inspiration is key to so many design decisions you will make in your life! From using the colors in your wardrobe to listening to your own instincts over other peoples’ contemporary paint color trends, it will give you the confidence to make a big color change and help you pick your interior paint colors. I think the best advice JAC can give to anyone trying to work out their own color identity or kitchen color schemes...
