Fall 2017 Design Trends
Fall is right around the corner and not only does that mean sweaters, boots and pumpkin spiced lattes, it means the newest modern interior design trends are upon us. Since we will inevitably be spending more time indoors it only seems appropriate that we maximize our Fall Decor Style and adopt a few trends that will usher us into hibernation in true JAC fashion.
Color of the season, drum roll please, is Okra. Please think earthy, olive, khaki green, not slimy, southern vegetable green. This hue is rich, sophisticated and universally pleasing and perfect for our posh Beverly Hills interior design clients. Pop it into your home with a swap out of the window treatments, a pair of fab pillows, a great new velvet duvet, a bold accent wall or even just a great piece of pottery. Or commit full with army green cabinetry, still neutral so safe, but really yummy.
Matte Black is also on our fall trend radar. We’re loving it in hardware, lighting fixtures, tile accents, and even furniture finishes. This modern matte black is bold and goes well with just about any space.
Hello Velvet! A total drop dead essential for fall, both on your body and in your home. Nothing is more luxe and sumptuous to curl up with than a little velvet accent.
Leather is always on trend but for this fall let’s narrow in on the more distressed leather finishes. It’s rustic, vintage and therefore seems thoughtful and special while maintaining its comfort, class and versatility.
Blanket Ladders are definitely a thing right now. Not only are they practical but what a great way to display your overzealous blanket, linen and towel collections. It adds layers of plush fabrics to accent any cozy living space, is a really a smart space saving technique and is a great way to fill a blank wall vertically without committing to art or the maintenance of a plant.
Swap out your peonies and hydrangeas for some eucalyptus, olive or birch branches. Stark, tall and rustic profiles add easy fall drama to your table top, kitchen island or entry console. They also have the bonus of longevity and no shedding. Double points for low maintenance style!
