Ain’t Your Grandma’s Wallpaper
This week is all about the accent walls: bold colors, graffiti murals, grasscloth, textured wallpaper, geometric wallpaper, wallpaper made to look like it’s been hand painted, gold lame, floral wallpaper, did I mention we really like wallpaper? For those of you with an adventurous spirit, wallpaper is our favorite way to add color, energy and personal style to a space.
Wallpaper has come a long way from your grandmother’s cherry blossoms in the dining room that curled at the corners and faded with time. Some of our favorite designers are getting into the wallpaper game, creating accessible works of art. Top Designer Kelly Wearstler’s, Channels Wallpaper is one of our favorites. We are even using it on the ceiling in one of our homes!
We really love the effect wallpaper has on small spaces. This is especially a great way for all you scaredy cats to test the wallpaper waters. Try a bold print in a powder room, laundry room, in the nursery, or pick one wall to cover for instant style.
Grasscloth is another one of our favorite go tos. It adds a rich layer of color and texture that can technically be considered neutral without always going for boring beige. It works wonderfully in those areas of the home that you want to keep clean, fresh, soothing, calming yet luxurious.
